Batman - DC Comics

I've always thought Neal Adams drew Batman the best, apart from Bob Kane. Batman Odyssey is from 2012. Needless to say Batman is my favorite super-hero.

Jim Aparo is as close as you can get to Neal Adams.

Here's a recent Wanted poster for The Batman that appeared on Yahoo which undoubtedly is in preparation for the Dark Knight movie.

Here's a couple of great Batman books. The Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told is a full color graphic novel.
Tales Of The Dark Knight is a great Batman book that has some great info on Batman's first 50 years.

The Joker: The Clown Prince of Crime Graphic Novel review

Way back in 1975, before Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson played a part in making the Joker as cool as he is today, the Joker became the first villain to ever star in a solo comic book series. Only the Joker, arguably one of the greatest comic book villains of all time, could pull off a solo title without Batman making a single appearance as a protagonist. The Joker: The Clown Prince of Crime finally collects all of the highly collectible single issues into one trade paperback. The Joker battles fellow Batman foes Two-Face, Catwoman and the Scarecrow in crime-filled capers full of mischief and villainy. Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Creeper and even the world’s greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, make appearances against the Clown Prince of Crime. Although short lived, the Joker series is surely classic comic book entertainment at its finest. Based on the current popularity of the Joker, and other villains like Harley Quinn, a new series starring the Joker seems to be in order. Any Joker fan would be crazy not to include The Joker: The Clown Prince of Crime into their jokerific collection.

Along with Solomon Grundy, The Joker is one of my favorite comic book villians and quite possibly the greatest comic book villian ever.

Batman - The New 52

The Joker is back and he's found new ways to terrorize the Batman family. He's kidnapped Alfred the butler and Batman is trying to figure out where the Joker is keeping Alfred to save him. The Joker appears to have a flesh, death mask attached over his face, making this latest appearance of The Joker the most gruesome of  them all.

Batman learns that the Joker has taken over Arkham Asylum in issue 15. Batman goes to Arkham in issue 16 and The Joker forces Batman to sit in an electric chair. The Joker shows Batman the Batman family being tortured and is forced into the chair "or else". Batman is supposedly executed in the electric chair...

I've included the back cover of #17 as well... anyway, Batman survives the electric chair and frees himself after Joker tries to kill off the entire family in the depths of Arkham. Batman rescues Alfred and Joker is seen falling into a deep cave at the end of the issue...
